Conference Talk: Migration from REST to GraphQL

Problem/Feature Description

A senior engineer at a fintech startup is giving a 30-minute conference talk at a regional developer conference about their team's journey migrating a customer-facing API from REST to GraphQL. The talk needs to engage an audience of backend engineers who are skeptical — they've heard the GraphQL hype but aren't convinced it's worth the migration pain. By the end of the talk the engineer wants those skeptics nodding along and asking how to start.

The engineer hates "list of features" tech talks and wants this one to feel like a story the audience is pulled through, with clear emotional throughlines and a satisfying ending that loops back to where it started rather than trailing off into "and that's GraphQL, thanks."

The talk should also be demo-friendly — the engineer wants to script key talking points and demo steps as speaker notes so they can rehearse and not go blank on stage. Some slides are "nice to have" and may be cut if time runs short.

Produce a 10-12 slide presenterm presentation for this talk. Include at least one diagram showing the architectural comparison (REST vs GraphQL), one code example slide, and speaker notes on at least 3 slides.

Output Specification

Produce a single file graphql-migration-talk.md containing the complete presentation. The file should be ready to run directly with the presenterm tool.
