business-process

Creates or updates BPMN 2.0 business process models (docs/processes/BP-XXX-*.bpmn) from the requirements catalog and the use case diagram: one pool per process, one lane per actor, every activity one use case, gateways for the decisions between them, and a diagram layout a modeler such as bpmn.io can open. Every process gets a BP-XXX id for communication and traceability; run it with that id (e.g. /business-process BP-001) to update one process. Use when the user asks to "model the business process", "create a BPMN", "draw the process", "connect the use cases into a process", "update BP-001", or mentions a business process, process model, BPMN, swimlanes, or a .bpmn file. Also trigger when a review or the use case skills report a summary use case whose parts hand over to another role, wait for an event or deadline, or run in parallel — that flow is a business process. The resulting model is what /test-case BP-XXX derives end-to-end test cases from.

Reviews the quality of instructions and guidance provided to agents. Good implementation is clear, handles edge cases, and produces reliable results.

A well-engineered instruction skill: concrete commands with placeholders explained, exact naming and documentation formats, a workflow with confirmation gates, validation with rerun loops, and a checklist, while the heavy artifacts live in one-level-deep reference files that are all present. The only notable weakness is moderate redundancy — key rules (notably the activity-must-be-a-use-case rule) are repeated across several sections and sentences run long.

Suggestions

State the 'no activity without a use case' rule once in Modeling rules and let Missing use cases, the Workflow, and the Checklist reference it, instead of restating it in each place.

Tighten multi-clause sentences (e.g. the Diagram layout and Update sections) by splitting them into short imperative bullets, which would trim tokens without losing the rules.

DimensionReasoningScore

Conciseness

Nearly every sentence carries a project-specific rule (naming conventions, lane assignment, gateway naming, update semantics) rather than generic BPMN explanation Claude already knows, matching the 'efficient; minor instances of over-explanation' anchor. It falls short of 5 because sentences are long and the no-activity-without-use-case rule is restated in four places (Modeling rules, Missing use cases, Workflow step 3, and the Checklist/DO NOT lists), which could be tightened.

4 / 5

Actionability

Guidance is fully executable for an instruction skill: copy-paste commands (`python3 <skill directory>/scripts/bpmn_layout.py docs/processes/BP-001-book-loan.bpmn`, `--check`, the glob `**/*test-case/scripts/bpmn_paths.py`), concrete naming examples (`Book Loan` → `BP-001-book-loan.bpmn`), example element ids (`StartEvent_BookWanted`, `Flow_CopyAvailable_Yes`), and exact documentation line formats. This matches the top anchor rather than 4, where minor gaps in concrete detail would remain.

5 / 5

Workflow Clarity

The 7-step Workflow has an explicit user-confirmation gate before writing (step 2), a validation command with a feedback loop ('Fix and rerun until it does', step 5), a Completeness Checklist (step 6), and stop conditions in Missing use cases. Clear sequence, explicit checkpoints, error-recovery loops, and a checklist match the top anchor; validation of the batch write operation is present, so no cap applies.

5 / 5

Progressive Disclosure

The body holds the rules and points to one-level-deep bundle files that all exist — [references/process.bpmn.md](references/process.bpmn.md) and [references/example.bpmn.md](references/example.bpmn.md) introduced in a Template section, and [scripts/bpmn_layout.py](scripts/bpmn_layout.py) in Diagram layout. The bulk material (full template, complete example, layout tool) is appropriately split out with clear signals, matching the top anchor for well-signaled one-level-deep references.

Description

92%Weight 40%Scale 1-5

Based on the skill's description, can an agent find and select it at the right time? Clear, specific descriptions lead to better discovery.

A strong description: it states concrete capabilities with file paths and naming conventions, gives an explicit 'Use when' clause with quoted natural trigger phrases and a file extension, and defines a distinct niche within its toolchain. The only gap is missing common synonyms such as 'workflow' among the trigger terms.

Suggestions

Add one or two common synonyms users naturally say for this task (e.g. "workflow", "process flow") to the trigger-term list to reach full keyword coverage.

The closing sentence about /test-case deriving test cases is context rather than capability or trigger; trimming it would make the description slightly tighter without losing routing value.

DimensionReasoningScore

Specificity

Multiple concrete actions are stated — "Creates or updates BPMN 2.0 business process models", "one pool per process, one lane per actor, every activity one use case, gateways for the decisions between them, and a diagram layout a modeler such as bpmn.io can open" — with file locations, BP-XXX ids, and update semantics covered. This matches the anchor for comprehensive concrete coverage, not the level below (which would leave gaps in capability coverage).

5 / 5

Completeness

The "what" is explicit (creates/updates BPMN 2.0 models with pool/lane/activity/gateway conventions and BP-XXX ids) and the "when" is explicit with concrete trigger phrases ("Use when the user asks to 'model the business process'… or mentions a business process, process model, BPMN, swimlanes, or a .bpmn file"), plus an additional trigger condition from review/use-case findings. This clearly matches the top anchor rather than the 4 anchor where 'when' could be more specific.

5 / 5

Trigger Term Quality

Good natural coverage: quoted phrases "model the business process", "create a BPMN", "draw the process", "update BP-001" plus keywords "business process, process model, BPMN, swimlanes, or a .bpmn file" including a file extension. It stops short of the 5 anchor because common synonyms such as "workflow" or "process flow diagram" a user might naturally say are missing.

4 / 5

Distinctiveness Conflict Risk

A clear niche — BPMN 2.0 process modeling with .bpmn files, swimlanes, BP-XXX ids, and named sibling skills (/test-case, /use-case-diagram) — makes misrouting unlikely; the generic phrase "mentions a business process" is the only broad trigger, and it is on-topic for the skill. Not the 4 anchor, since overlap is minimal rather than a real risk with closely related skills.
