airflow-bash-ssh-to-orchestra

Use this skill when an Airflow DAG contains BashOperator (non-dbt), SSHOperator (non-dbt), WinRMOperator, or KubernetesPodOperator. Triggers: any task using bash_command= that isn't running dbt, any task using ssh_conn_id= that isn't running dbt, any KubernetesPodOperator or DockerOperator. Note: BashOperator or SSHOperator tasks running dbt CLI commands (dbt run/build/test/seed/snapshot) are handled by dbt-core-airflow-to-orchestra instead, even though they SSH into a remote server.

Reviews the quality of instructions and guidance provided to agents. Good implementation is clear, handles edge cases, and produces reliable results.

A highly actionable, example-rich migration skill with a clear decision tree and concrete before/after pairs. Minor room to tighten overlap between the Overview and Decision Tree and to add a validation checkpoint for the produced YAML.

Suggestions

Add a short 'Verify' step (e.g. linting the generated Orchestra YAML or confirming the referenced connections exist) to the workflow.

Dedupe the dbt-boundary note so it lives authoritatively in one place (the Decision Tree) with a brief pointer from the Gotchas.

DimensionReasoningScore

Conciseness

Dense and code-heavy with minimal conceptual padding; the Overview bullets and Decision Tree overlap slightly, and the dbt-boundary note is repeated across the description, decision tree, and Gotchas, so a little could be trimmed.

4 / 5

Actionability

Provides copy-paste-ready Airflow-to-Orchestra YAML/Python pairs for the common cases (Python script, SSH, WinRM, K8s, ECS) with concrete parameters and a full before/after pipeline example.

5 / 5

Workflow Clarity

The Decision Tree gives a clear, sequenced routing logic and the before/after example demonstrates a full pipeline, but there is no explicit step to validate the generated Orchestra YAML before use.

4 / 5

Progressive Disclosure

Well-organized with clear section headers and an explicit References list pointing to external docs; cross-skill links are clearly signaled, though all per-operator detail is inlined in one ~300-line file rather than split into bundle files.

Description

91%Weight 40%Scale 1-5

Based on the skill's description, can an agent find and select it at the right time? Clear, specific descriptions lead to better discovery.

A strong, highly specific description with explicit trigger guidance and clear boundary handling against the related dbt skill. The only gap is that the 'what' (conversion to Orchestra) is conveyed via the title and operator enumeration rather than an explicit action statement.

Suggestions

Add one explicit 'what' clause stating the conversion action, e.g. 'Converts these operators into the corresponding Orchestra integrations (PYTHON, LINUX_SSH, WINDOWS_SSH, AWS_EKS/GKE/AKS, AWS_ECS/GCP_CLOUD_RUN).'

Consider adding 'DockerOperator' to the opening operator list (it appears only in the Triggers clause) for consistency.

DimensionReasoningScore

Specificity

Names multiple concrete operators and trigger fields (BashOperator, SSHOperator, WinRMOperator, KubernetesPodOperator, DockerOperator, bash_command=, ssh_conn_id=), giving comprehensive coverage of the skill's scope.

5 / 5

Completeness

Has an explicit 'Use this skill when...' trigger and enumerates what is covered, but the conversion action itself ('convert these operators to Orchestra integrations') is implied by the title rather than stated as an explicit 'what' in the description.

4 / 5

Trigger Term Quality

Includes the natural terms an Airflow engineer would say (operator class names, bash_command=, ssh_conn_id=, dbt run/build/test/seed/snapshot) plus the dedicated 'Triggers:' clause, covering synonyms and parameter-level variations.

5 / 5

Distinctiveness Conflict Risk

Carves a clear niche (non-dbt Airflow shell/SSH/K8s operators) and explicitly delegates dbt cases to dbt-core-airflow-to-orchestra, minimizing conflict risk.
