Building When Code is Cheap and Your Time is Not
Hot take: many of us are trying to build software factories by optimizing the outer loop. What if the most important work is actually inside the four walls of our applications?
We can now build software faster than we can understand it. This session explores how purpose-built frameworks, DSLs, and other abstractions once too expensive to justify can help us optimize for review and maintainability—compressing implementation into clear intent and eliminating repeated judgment, not just repeated code.
When writing code was expensive, we optimized for reuse. When understanding code is expensive, we should optimize for comprehension.
