Your Software Factory Already Has a Name: Continuous Delivery
More organizations are attempting to build a software factory. Most are building the assembly line and ignoring what feeds it.
In 2014, my team at Walmart went from quarterly releases to 5+ deliveries a day by asking one question, "Why can't we deliver today's work today?" and fixing every answer.
In 2025, I hit the same walls with coding agents: vague requirements, review bottlenecks, and no shared definition of "good" all resulted in rework and delayed delivery. I found that the same principles that fixed it for people also worked for agents.
This talk maps Continuous Delivery onto the agentic software factory and the principles and critical practices that drive good outcomes. We'll also cover what I'm learning introducing this inside an enterprise and why software delivery is still a people problem.
If your plan is "add agents, go faster," come find out why that produces garbage faster, and what to fix first.
