Code Readiness for Agentic Development

Coding agents succeed when the codebase supports autonomous work. This talk explains how reproducible environments, enforceable standards, deterministic checks, evidence-based review, protected merging, and production monitoring prepare code for agents from issue to release. Each step leaves the engineer’s hands only when a script or independent agent can validate it. In one month, this approach helped a team merge 334 of 373 agent pull requests on the first try, with only four requiring human-written code.
