Pari Patel
Entrepreneur & Technologist | Building the Future of Human Intelligence
Pari Patel is the Founder and CEO of Zone, where she is building brain-sensing earbuds that use in-ear EEG to understand attention and cognitive state. Zone has raised over $1M and collected more than one billion neural data points. Her work spans consumer hardware, neurotechnology, and AI, with a focus on how technology can adapt to the person using it. A previous speaker at Harvard, Pari brings a hands-on founder’s perspective to human-AI collaboration and the role of attention in everyday computing.

We Gave AI Memory. What About Awareness?
A coding agent may remember the entire conversation while still giving its user an explanation they cannot follow or requesting a decision without enough context. Remembering what happened is only part of supporting the person doing the work.
Pari Patel, founder of brain-sensing wearable company Zone, explores how developer tools could account for the human receiving their output. Here, awareness means sensitivity to the user’s task and interaction needs. Through a proposed coding-assistant workflow, she will examine explicit preferences, task context, and user feedback as inputs for adjusting explanation depth, pacing, and handoffs.
The session also considers what neural sensing might eventually contribute, with a clear distinction between current capabilities and proposed applications. Attendees will leave with practical ways to design more responsive interactions while giving users control over adaptation.
