3d-ultra-realistic-water

Build an ultra-realistic open ocean in Three.js with a deep-water Gerstner spectrum shaded per pixel from analytic derivatives, each wave faded at its own pixel footprint, plus Fresnel sky-cube and planar reflections, subsurface light through the crests, HDR sun glitter, Jacobian lace foam, a Kelvin wake, hull foam, buoyancy queries and aerial perspective into the sky's horizon haze. Use for seas, oceans, sunset or daylight water, sun glitter paths, ship or boat scenes, wakes, coastal flyovers and any 3D scene with a moving camera and a water horizon. Includes the approved water from Pirate Ship Sunset as a reusable module and demo.

Content

100%Weight 40%Scale 1-5

Reviews the quality of instructions and guidance provided to agents. Good implementation is clear, handles edge cases, and produces reliable results.

An expertly structured skill body: lean and operational, with executable integration code, an ordered per-frame workflow, a validation checklist, and well-signaled one-level-deep references to real bundle files.

DimensionReasoningScore

Conciseness

The body assumes Claude's competence — it never explains basic Three.js or wave concepts — and every section is dense with non-obvious operational specifics (shipped constants, A/B-tested failure measurements), so each token earns its place.

5 / 5

Actionability

A copy-paste integration snippet imports the real module, wires createWaves/createOcean/createWake/createPlanarReflection, and lists the per-frame call order with inline comments, complemented by an exact constants table.

5 / 5

Workflow Clarity

The per-frame sequence is explicitly ordered ('every frame, in this order') and a 'Verify' checklist provides explicit validation checkpoints with diagnostic feedback for each failure mode.

5 / 5

Progressive Disclosure

The SKILL.md is an overview that links one level deep to the verified assets/ocean.mjs module and references/ocean.md full-detail page, with content appropriately split and clearly signaled markdown navigation.

Description

100%Weight 40%Scale 1-5

Based on the skill's description, can an agent find and select it at the right time? Clear, specific descriptions lead to better discovery.

A strong, specific description that clearly states the capability and provides explicit, natural trigger terms with synonyms. It is comprehensive, distinctive, and uses appropriate imperative voice.

DimensionReasoningScore

Specificity

The description enumerates many concrete capabilities (Gerstner spectrum shaded per pixel from analytic derivatives, footprint fade, Fresnel sky-cube, planar reflections, subsurface light, HDR sun glitter, Jacobian lace foam, Kelvin wake, hull foam, buoyancy queries, aerial perspective) with comprehensive coverage and no gaps.

5 / 5

Completeness

It explicitly answers both 'what' (Build an ultra-realistic open ocean in Three.js...) and 'when' (Use for seas, oceans, sunset...) with concrete trigger phrases.

5 / 5

Trigger Term Quality

The 'Use for' clause gives comprehensive natural terms with synonyms users would actually say — 'seas, oceans, sunset or daylight water, sun glitter paths, ship or boat scenes, wakes, coastal flyovers' — covering the common variations.

5 / 5

Distinctiveness Conflict Risk

The Three.js ultra-realistic open-ocean niche is highly specific with distinctive technical triggers, leaving minimal overlap risk with other skills.
