corporate-speak

Rewrite supplied text or the preceding draft in corporate jargon at an intensity from 1 to 11. Use when the user asks for corporate-speak, business jargon, or a more corporate version of an update, request, announcement, apology, or other text. Defaults to ridiculously over-the-top intensity 11.

Corporate-speak, up to 11

Turn the corporate dial on the user's message. At low settings it sounds ready for work; at 11 it sounds as if a leadership offsite has become self-aware, acquired a consultancy, and appointed a steering committee to find the bathroom. This is corporate satire: be gloriously, ridiculously over the top. The joke is the language. The underlying message stays the same.

Set the dial

Use the requested intensity from 1 to 11; default to 11 if none is given. For a follow-up such as “rewrite in corporate-speak”, use the draft already in the conversation. Do not ask the user to paste it again. A later request such as “tone it down to 4” adjusts that rewrite. Ask for the message only when no source text is available in the request or conversation.

LevelRegisterWhat changes
1–3Polite colleagueSmooth phrasing, little or no jargon.
4–6Calendar-invite EnglishAdd bandwidth, alignment, and a measured circle-back.
7–9All-hands EnglishNouns become initiatives. Verbs become workstreams.
10Leadership offsiteNested abstractions and a strategic lens on everything.
11Corporate singularityA LinkedIn thought leader trapped inside a quarterly earnings call inside a TED talk. Every sentence could chair a steering committee.

Rewrite

  • Increase jargon, abstraction, nominalisation, and ceremonious framing as the dial rises. At 11, pull out every stop: stack clichés, mix business metaphors, nest buzzwords inside other buzzwords, and expand a tiny update into a monument to unnecessary alignment. Aim for laugh-out-loud excess, not merely a formal email.
  • Preserve the source's facts, numbers, names, timing, uncertainty, requests, decisions, responsibility, and commitments. A delay remains a delay, a request remains a request, and an apology still owns the mistake.
  • Do not invent approvals, enthusiasm, reasons, stakeholders, deliverables, deadlines, or promises. Corporate language should decorate the supplied meaning, not supply missing facts or hide an inconvenient point.
  • Apply the style to whatever the user supplied. No particular recipient, meeting, refusal, prior workflow, or personal history is assumed.

The corporate cliché buffet

At high intensity, raid this shamelessly. Combine the clichés rather than handing back a vocabulary list. Figurative nonsense is welcome; new factual claims are not.

  • circle back; touch base; double-click; take this offline; put a pin in it
  • move the needle; push the envelope; raise the bar; shift the paradigm
  • synergise; align the alignment; cascade the learnings; socialise the ask
  • leverage core competencies; activate cross-functional synergies; break down silos
  • pick the low-hanging fruit; boil the ocean; drink from the firehose
  • run it up the flagpole; get our ducks in a row; herd the cats
  • build the plane while flying it; change the tyres on a moving bus
  • blue-sky thinking; outside-the-box ideation; a helicopter view; a 30,000-foot view
  • holistic, end-to-end, 360-degree, best-in-class, world-class, next-generation
  • robust, scalable, agile, frictionless, seamless, turnkey, future-proof
  • value-add; quick wins; actionable insights; strategic imperatives; north-star metrics
  • thought leadership; stakeholder buy-in; stakeholder engagement; stakeholder alignment
  • bandwidth; runway; wheelhouse; swim lanes; guardrails; swim-lane guardrails
  • a single source of truth; a seat at the table; a win-win; a force multiplier
  • mission-critical enablement; a laser focus on customer-centric outcomes
  • a transformative journey toward sustainable operational excellence
  • unlock value; drive impact; deliver outcomes; operationalise the roadmap

Useful transformations:

  • do → action, operationalise
  • discuss → align on, socialise
  • plan → roadmap, delivery framework
  • fix → remediate, resolve the operational headwind
  • update → progress readout, status communication
  • work together → coordinate, activate cross-functional collaboration

Example

Source: “We fixed the cache bug and cut startup time by 40%.”

4: “We resolved the caching issue, delivering a 40% improvement in startup time.”

11: “To circle back and double-click on the cache-remediation workstream: we have moved the needle, raised the bar, and got the caching ducks into a strategically aligned row. The bug is fixed. From a holistic, end-to-end, 30,000-foot helicopter view, this translates into a best-in-class, needle-moving value-add of 40% less startup time. That is not merely a quick win; it is the low-hanging fruit of operational excellence being actioned directly into the startup-performance wheelhouse. Loop closed. Needle moved. Ducks aligned. Paradigm gently escorted into its next-generation swim lane.”

Output

Return the rewritten message only, unless the user asks for an explanation, comparison, or multiple versions. Drafting text does not send it.
