azure-local-multi-rack

Plan, deploy, operate, and troubleshoot multi-rack (rack scale) deployments of Azure Local — preintegrated racks scaling to hundreds of machines, built on Network Fabric Controller, Cluster Manager, SAN storage, and managed network fabric. Use for the Microsoft.NetworkCloud and Microsoft.ManagedNetworkFabric control plane. NOT for standard 1-16 node Azure Local, and NOT for rack-aware clusters (two racks as availability zones, up to 8 nodes, synchronous replication) — those are standard scale. WHEN: multi-rack, rack scale Azure Local, aggregation rack, compute rack, Network Fabric Controller, NFC, Cluster Manager, network fabric, isolation domain, az networkcloud, az networkfabric, multi-rack logical network, multi-rack Arc VM.

Quality

Content

88%Weight 40%Scale 1-5

Reviews the quality of instructions and guidance provided to agents. Good implementation is clear, handles edge cases, and produces reliable results.

The content is concise, well-structured, and workflow-rich with strong safety checkpoints and well-organized one-level-deep reference files. The main weakness is that the workflow steps link to a workflows/ directory that does not exist in the bundle, leaving those navigation paths dead.

Suggestions

Create the referenced workflow files under workflows/ (plan-and-deploy, workload-management, networking, operate-and-monitor) or repoint the workflow steps to the existing references/ files so no links are dead.

For the in-skill workflow steps, add a one-line executable first command per step (e.g., a read-only `az networkcloud cluster show` example) so guidance is copy-paste ready even before the linked file is opened.

Cross-link the safety-rules reference from the Workflow section intro alongside its existing Error Handling mention so the confirmation checklist is reachable from both paths.

DimensionReasoningScore

Conciseness

The body is lean with no concept padding (no explaining what Azure Local or a SAN is); each section — Quick Reference table, MCP Tools, Workflow, Error Handling — earns its tokens and assumes Claude's competence, matching the lean/efficient anchor.

5 / 5

Actionability

It gives concrete CLI extensions, named MCP tools, and a quick-reference table, but the workflow steps link to files (workflows/plan-and-deploy/...) that are not present in the bundle, leaving minor gaps versus fully copy-paste-ready guidance.

4 / 5

Workflow Clarity

The numbered workflow is clearly sequenced with explicit checkpoints ("Read the matched workflow first", "Start read-only", "Ask before fabric changes... or anything touching the aggregation rack or SAN") and an Error Handling table providing feedback loops for risky operations.

5 / 5

Progressive Disclosure

SKILL.md is a clean overview with one-level-deep, well-signaled references to real files in references/ (cli-and-prereqs, docs-map, resource-types, safety-rules), but the workflow section points to a non-existent workflows/ directory, a navigation gap versus the top anchor.

Description

100%Weight 40%Scale 1-5

Based on the skill's description, can an agent find and select it at the right time? Clear, specific descriptions lead to better discovery.

The description is exemplary: it states concrete capabilities, lists comprehensive natural trigger terms including CLI verbs and synonyms, answers both what and when explicitly, and hard-disambiguates against the closely related standard-scale skill. No weak dimensions.

DimensionReasoningScore

Specificity

"Plan, deploy, operate, and troubleshoot" lists multiple concrete capability verbs, and "built on Network Fabric Controller, Cluster Manager, SAN storage, and managed network fabric" enumerates specific components, matching the comprehensive-coverage anchor.

5 / 5

Completeness

It explicitly answers "what" (plan/deploy/operate/troubleshoot multi-rack Azure Local) and "when" ("Use for the Microsoft.NetworkCloud... control plane" plus a "WHEN:" trigger list), with concrete trigger phrases matching the top anchor.

5 / 5

Trigger Term Quality

The explicit "WHEN:" clause provides comprehensive natural terms including synonyms ("NFC"), CLI groups ("az networkcloud", "az networkfabric"), and concept phrases ("aggregation rack", "isolation domain", "multi-rack Arc VM"), matching the comprehensive-coverage anchor.

5 / 5

Distinctiveness Conflict Risk

Explicit negative boundaries ("NOT for standard 1-16 node Azure Local", "NOT for rack-aware clusters") carve a clear niche distinct from the sibling azure-local skill, minimizing wrong-skill triggering.
