PopNow API reference

PopNow (https://popnow.ai) is a browser-based AI studio for videos, images and music. Its developer API exposes the same models, prices and credit wallet as the website. This skill holds the API reference (references/) and a dependency-free CLI, scripts/popnow.py. Paths below are relative to this skill's folder.

The essentials

• Base URL https://api.popnow.ai. Native endpoints under /api/v1/*; OpenAI-compatible video endpoints under /v1/*.
• Auth Authorization: Bearer sk-popnow-... on every request. Keys: https://popnow.ai/api/console/keys. Keep keys server-side and out of logs. Read it from POPNOW_API_KEY.
• Envelope every native response is {"code", "msg", "data", "request_id"}. code: 200 is success; anything else is an error. Branch on code, never on msg.
• Credits 1 credit = $0.001 (1,000 credits = $1). API and website share one wallet and one price list. There is no subscription; credit packs at https://popnow.ai/pricing.
• Tasks every generation is async: POST /api/v1/jobs/quote (free price check) -> POST /api/v1/jobs/createTask (holds the max price, returns taskId) -> GET /api/v1/jobs/recordInfo?taskId=... until state is succeeded, failed or expired -> download output.assets[].url (signed, about 20 minutes, no API key).
• Billing the hold settles to the actual price (never above the hold) on success; failed and expired tasks release the whole hold.
• Model IDs <maker>/<model>/<task>, e.g. minimax/h3/image-to-video, google/nano-banana-2.1/edit. Live catalog GET /api/v1/models; one model with its JSON Schema GET /api/v1/models/{model}. Unknown input fields are rejected.

Rule: confirm before spending

When acting for a user, quote first, tell them the credits, and create only after they agree. Pass quoteId and expectedCredits (the quote's maxCredits) to createTask so the confirmed price is the price held; a changed price returns 40901 and nothing is held. scripts/popnow.py create --confirm-credits N does exactly this.

Add --json after the command for raw JSON. Exit codes: 0 ok, 1 API error, 2 usage, 3 price needs re-confirmation, 4 still running, 5 task failed.

Generate the Idempotency-Key once per piece of work and reuse it on every retry of that request.
