Find a free, ready-made PopNow style preset (an Agent Skill) for what the user wants to make - product launch or demo videos, pitch and slide decks, landing pages and websites, portfolios, dashboards, editorial images and thumbnails - show the options with preview links, let the user pick, then install and follow the chosen skill. Use when the user asks to make a video, deck, web page or image where a proven style helps ("make a product launch video", "I need a pitch deck", "build a SaaS landing page", "find a skill for YouTube thumbnails", "is there a template for this"). Skills are free; only the PopNow generations they run cost credits, quoted first.

PopNow publishes a catalog of free Agent Skills at https://popnow.ai/skills/agent-skills. Each one is a named style with a preview video or picture and a full playbook (SKILL.md, scripts, references, assets) that a coding agent follows to build the result: a launch video, a slide deck, a website, a set of images.
Cost model. Finding, installing and using a skill is free. The images, video, music or voice a skill generates through PopNow spend the user's credits (1 credit = $0.001), and every generation is quoted and confirmed before anything is spent.

popnow skills info <slug> # what it does, what it needs
popnow skills add <slug> --agent claude-code # or codex, cursor, gemini-cli, github-copilot, opencode
popnow skills add <slug> --agent codex --project # into the current project insteadShow the search results as in Presenting options, ask, then add the chosen slug. The skill lands in a popnow-<slug>/ folder; read its SKILL.md and follow it.
Needs POPNOW_API_KEY in the environment (create one at https://popnow.ai/api/console/keys; the user runs export POPNOW_API_KEY="sk-popnow-..." in their own shell). Never ask the user to paste the key into the chat and never print it.
python3 scripts/find_skills.py search "pitch deck for a seed round" --type slides --limit 4
python3 scripts/find_skills.py info <slug>
python3 scripts/find_skills.py install <slug> --agent claude-code --dry-run # shows the target folder
python3 scripts/find_skills.py install <slug> --agent claude-code # add --project, --dir DIR or --forceWhat the script does (Python 3.8+ standard library only):
| Step | Request |
|---|---|
| Search | GET /api/v1/agent-skills?q=<intent>&type=<type> |
| Details | GET /api/v1/agent-skills/{slug} |
| Download | GET /api/v1/agent-skills/{slug}/download answers 302 to a short-lived signed link; the script fetches that link without the Authorization header |
| Install | Checks the zip (one top folder popnow-<slug>/ with SKILL.md, no absolute paths, .. or links), unpacks it into a staging folder and moves it into the agent's skills folder |
Without Python, do the same with two curl calls so the key never reaches the storage host:
url=$(curl -fsS -o /dev/null -w '%{redirect_url}' -H "Authorization: Bearer $POPNOW_API_KEY" \
curl -fsSL "$url" -o popnow-<slug>.zip && unzip -l popnow-<slug>.zip # inspect, then unzip into the skills folderSkills folders:
| Agent | Personal folder | Project folder |
|---|---|---|
| Claude Code | ~/.claude/skills | .claude/skills |
| Codex | ~/.agents/skills | .agents/skills |
| Cursor | ~/.cursor/skills | .cursor/skills |
| Gemini CLI | ~/.gemini/skills | .gemini/skills |
| GitHub Copilot | ~/.copilot/skills | .github/skills |
| OpenCode | ~/.config/opencode/skills | .opencode/skills |
After installing, read popnow-<slug>/SKILL.md and follow it. Agents that list skills only at startup show the new skill after a restart; reading the file directly works right away.
Keep each option to three or four short lines and number them:
1. <Skill name> - <its one-line look, e.g. fast cuts and bold type on a dark stage>
Preview: <preview video or image link>
Uses PopNow video (priced before each clip) · needs Node.js and ffmpeg
2. ...
Which one would you like? Using any of them is free; only the clips it generates cost credits.Always include the preview link when there is one, say which PopNow generation the skill uses (or that it needs none), and list local requirements such as node, ffmpeg or chrome.
api.popnow.ai (or POPNOW_BASE_URL), never to the storage host, a log or the chat.type, point to https://popnow.ai/skills/agent-skills, or do the job directly with popnow-video / popnow-image.| You see | Do |
|---|---|
401 / "POPNOW_API_KEY is not set" | Ask the user to create a key and export it in their shell |
404 unknown skill | Run search again and use a slug from the results |
429 too many requests | Wait a minute, then retry once |
| "already installed" (exit 2) | Ask whether to update; re-run with --force only after a yes |
Signed link failed (403/expired) | Run install again to get a fresh link |
