style-clone

Building a new course inside someone else's deck — import the deck as a library of layouts, then produce each page of the new course by copying the layout that fits it and rewriting that copy's content element by element, so the result reads as though the original author made it. Use when the session has an imported deck (or a `.pptx` to import) and the ask is to teach new material in its design — its palette, its typography, its way of dividing a page. Not for a straight import that must stay slide-for-slide identical to the file (that is `pptx-import`), and not for extracting how a teacher speaks from a recording or handout (that is `teacher-style-clone`, which supplies the voice while this one supplies the look; the two compose).

Content

81%Weight 40%Scale 1-5

Reviews the quality of instructions and guidance provided to agents. Good implementation is clear, handles edge cases, and produces reliable results.

A highly actionable, well-sequenced workflow body: exact tool calls, per-element pointer paths, and genuine validation feedback loops at every risky stage. The cost is length — rules are repeated across sections and run-history anecdotes pad the narrative, and some reference-grade detail is inlined rather than split out.

Suggestions

State each hard rule once and reference it: 'copy, never regenerate a copied page' appears in the intro, Step 4, and Hard Rules, and the residue sweep in Steps 5 and 7 as well as Hard Rules — consolidate to the Hard Rules section and point back to it.

Compress the historical run narratives ('Why this works now', the 35-of-44-edits and hex-values-appear-zero-times anecdotes) to one or two sentence evidence notes attached to the rules they motivate; the full failure stories read as padding.

Move the three-part editing-seam specification and the per-element pointer examples out of 'Why this works now' into the referenced `slide-dsl` material (or a reference file), keeping SKILL.md to the workflow and the rules.

DimensionReasoningScore

Conciseness

The body is dense and skill-specific rather than explaining known concepts, but core rules are stated three or more times (copy-not-generate in the intro, Step 4, and Hard Rules; the residue sweep in Steps 5, 7, and Hard Rules) and the 'Why this works now' / 'What finishing a turn means here' sections carry multi-paragraph historical run narratives that could be compressed. This sits between anchor 2's 'several unnecessary explanations' and anchor 4's 'minor instances of over-explanation' — the padding is real but interleaved with high-value specifics.

3 / 5

Actionability

Guidance is fully executable: exact tool calls with parameters (`read_stage` with `path:/scenes/<order|id>` and `detail:"source"`, `duplicate_scene({ templateSceneId, targetOrder, title })`, `generate_image({ prompt, aspectRatio?, styleHint? })`) and per-type JSON pointer examples down to `/content/canvas/elements/5/data/0/0/text`. It exceeds anchor 4, which allows minor gaps — none are evident.

5 / 5

Workflow Clarity

Steps 1–7 are explicitly sequenced with validation checkpoints and feedback loops: Step 5's whole-page residue sweep via `read_stage detail:"text"`, Step 6's preview convergence inside a two-round budget with escalation to a roomier template, and Step 7's narration read-back with a named fix path (`patch_stage` on `/actions/N/text`, then `generate_tts`). The destructive/batch cap at 3 does not apply — validation is present and explicit.

5 / 5

Progressive Disclosure

No bundle files exist; the body instead defers detail to clearly signaled sibling skills with load conditions ('`slide-dsl` is the field manual', '`page-clone`… read it before the first page', '`pro-editing` is loaded mid-run when a refined page comes out broken'). It falls short of anchor 5 because reference-grade material — the three-part editing-seam spec with its JSON pointer examples in 'Why this works now' — is inlined in the main file, keeping it long.

Description

92%Weight 40%Scale 1-5

Based on the skill's description, can an agent find and select it at the right time? Clear, specific descriptions lead to better discovery.

A strong description: third-person voice, concrete multi-step capability statement, an explicit 'Use when' trigger with file extension, and explicit boundaries against the two most confusable sibling skills. The only gap is modest synonym coverage of natural user phrasings like 'slides' or 'presentation'.

DimensionReasoningScore

Specificity

The description lists multiple concrete actions covering the full pipeline — 'import the deck as a library of layouts', 'copying the layout that fits it and rewriting that copy's content element by element' — with no vague filler and comprehensive coverage of the skill's scope. It exceeds anchor 4, where minor coverage gaps would remain.

5 / 5

Completeness

Both halves are explicit and concrete: what ('copying the layout that fits it and rewriting that copy's content element by element') and when ('Use when the session has an imported deck (or a `.pptx` to import) and the ask is to teach new material in its design'), plus clear not-for boundaries. This matches the anchor-5 example's structure exactly.

5 / 5

Trigger Term Quality

Natural trigger phrases are present — 'imported deck (or a `.pptx` to import)', 'teach new material in its design', 'palette', 'typography' — including a file extension. It falls short of anchor 5 because common synonyms a user might say ('slides', 'presentation', 'copy the style/look') are missing.

4 / 5

Distinctiveness Conflict Risk

It explicitly disambiguates its two nearest neighbors — 'that is `pptx-import`' for slide-for-slide imports and '`teacher-style-clone`, which supplies the voice while this one supplies the look' — establishing a clear niche with minimal conflict risk. No neighboring anchor fits better.
