Key Celestial Bodies to Observe

Five Planets (五星)

1. 岁星 - Wood, Spring

   • Location indicates which region will prosper
   • Movement predicts agricultural outcomes

2. 荧惑 - Fire, Summer

   • Indicates warfare and conflict
   • Watch for: 出则有兵，入则兵散

3. 填星 - Earth, Late Summer

   • Indicates stability and territory
   • Movement predicts land changes

4. 太白 - Metal, Autumn

   • Indicates military affairs
   • 出东为德，出西为刑

5. 辰星 - Water, Winter

   • Indicates legal matters and disasters
   • Watch for timing anomalies

Observation Procedures

Step 1: Regular Monitoring

• Track planetary positions against 28 constellations (二十八宿)
• Note color, brightness, and movement patterns

Step 2: Identify Anomalies

• 赢: planet ahead of expected position
• 缩: planet behind expected position
• 犯: planet approaching another celestial body
• 守: planet staying in one position

Step 3: Interpret Signs

• Good omens: proper alignment, clear colors, regular movement
• Bad omens: irregular movement, dimming, unexpected positions

Recording Requirements

• Document all observations systematically

Validation

1. Confirm all five planets (岁星, 荧惑, 填星, 太白, 辰星) are being tracked against the 28 constellations with color, brightness, and movement noted
2. Verify anomalies (赢, 缩, 犯, 守) are identified and interpreted correctly against the good/bad omen framework
3. Check that observations are documented systematically and correlated with both historical records and current earthly events
