Divide forces into three armies (三军) with distinct command structures and responsibilities.

Command Structure

Central Army (中军)

• Commander: Most experienced general (将中军)
• Deputy: Second-in-command (佐之)
• Role: Main force, center of battle formation

Upper Army (上军)

• Commander: Senior noble or experienced officer
• Deputy: Supporting commander
• Role: Flank support, reserve force

Lower Army (下军)

• Commander: Capable officer
• Deputy: Supporting commander
• Role: Vanguard or rear guard as needed

Staff Positions

• Chariot Driver (御戎): Drives commander's chariot
• Right Guard (右): Armed protector on chariot

Implementation Steps

1. Assess total available forces
2. Divide into three approximately equal groups
3. Appoint commanders based on merit and experience
4. Assign deputies to each commander
5. Designate support staff for each command
6. Establish communication protocols between armies
7. Define rules of engagement and coordination
