nirc-badge-request

Prepare Field Museum NIRC ID badge requests (Scientific Affiliate, Visitor, Contractor) and prefill the NIRC Badge Request Google Form for human review. Use this skill whenever the user mentions a badge, badge renewal, expiring badge, building access, door access, room access, West Lot parking for a non-staff person, or getting a research associate, affiliate, visitor, or contractor into NIRC spaces or the collections — even if they never name the form. Also use it for the questions this process raises: whether after-hours or weekend access is possible, who has to approve it, how far in advance to submit, and whether someone should go through this form or through HR. Restricted to curators; other Museum staff may prepare a draft but must route it to a curator for submission.

Content

92%Weight 40%Scale 1-5

Reviews the quality of instructions and guidance provided to agents. Good implementation is clear, handles edge cases, and produces reliable results.

The body is a well-structured, actionable workflow that front-loads the overview and delegates field-level detail to existing reference files, with explicit validation and browser-quirk recovery throughout. Only minor trimming of a few justifying sentences would push conciseness to a 5.

DimensionReasoningScore

Conciseness

Largely lean and assumes competence, but a few rationale sentences ('Catching a misrouted request here saves a bounce later', 'The supervisor field names an accountable Museum staff person... so standing matters before the work starts') are minor over-explanation that could be trimmed without loss.

4 / 5

Actionability

Fully actionable: concrete config paths, specific browser mechanics ('form_input fails on them... click them instead', 'Dates take YYYY-MM-DD'), explicit validation thresholds (≥7 days, ≤2 weeks, $10 cash deposit), and a copy-paste answer-sheet template covering the common cases.

5 / 5

Workflow Clarity

Clear 7-step sequence (Steps 0–6) with an explicit validation checklist in Step 4 and verification checkpoints in Step 5 ('screenshot to confirm the options are fully rendered', 'scroll back afterward to confirm'), plus an error-recovery loop for the dropdown animation failure.

5 / 5

Progressive Disclosure

Overview body points to two well-signaled, one-level-deep reference files (references/form-fields.md, references/config.example.yaml), both of which exist; bulk detail is appropriately split out rather than inlined.

Description

95%Weight 40%Scale 1-5

Based on the skill's description, can an agent find and select it at the right time? Clear, specific descriptions lead to better discovery.

The description is exemplary: third-person voice, concrete actions, exhaustive natural trigger terms, and an explicit Use-when clause covering both direct mentions and the surrounding process questions. The only minor gap is action breadth — it describes two main actions rather than a long list.

DimensionReasoningScore

Specificity

Names the domain and two concrete actions — 'Prepare Field Museum NIRC ID badge requests (Scientific Affiliate, Visitor, Contractor) and prefill the NIRC Badge Request Google Form' — with minor coverage gaps versus the multi-action anchor at 5.

4 / 5

Completeness

Explicitly answers both what ('Prepare... badge requests... and prefill the... Google Form for human review') and when ('Use this skill whenever the user mentions...'), with concrete trigger phrases and the adjacent questions the process raises.

5 / 5

Trigger Term Quality

Comprehensive natural-term coverage including synonyms — 'badge, badge renewal, expiring badge, building access, door access, room access, West Lot parking' plus 'research associate, affiliate, visitor, or contractor' — the phrases a user would actually say.

5 / 5

Distinctiveness Conflict Risk

A narrow, named niche (Field Museum NIRC badge requests) with distinct triggers and an explicit curator-only restriction, giving minimal overlap risk with other skills.
